Good morning PGMS Families,
As we work together to maintain a supportive, orderly, and productive learning environment, we want to inform you that our Lunch Detention and After-School Community Service programs will begin this week.
These internal measures are designed to help students build accountability around attendance, uniform expectations, and classroom behavior. Please note that neither lunch detention nor community service appears on a student’s official academic record. They are strictly internal tools to help manage and curb everyday infractions.
Infractions & Consequences Overview
We follow a progressive model where lighter, initial infractions default to lunch detention, while repeated or higher-level infractions escalate to after-school community service.

Uniform & Lateness: Initial or minor infractions result in a same-day lunch detention. Repeated infractions will result in after-school community service.

Behavioral Infractions: Minor/low-level behavioral issues result in a lunch detention. Higher-level or repeated behavioral issues will lead to community service.
Program Details & Schedules
1. Lunch Detention

When: Served during the student’s regularly scheduled lunch period (same day or a designated later date).

Transportation: All students, including yellow bus riders, can serve lunch detention without impacting their normal dismissal routine.
2. After-School Community Service

When: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:45 PM – 4:00 PM.

Advance Notice: Families will always be notified prior to a scheduled community service date, so you are fully aware of the infraction and can make necessary transportation arrangements.

Yellow Bus Students: Students who take the yellow bus cannot participate in after-school community service due to bus schedule constraints. These students will serve lunch detentions and/or be assigned alternative internal consequences instead.
Extenuating Circumstances
We understand that unexpected family or personal situations arise. If there are extenuating circumstances regarding lateness or uniform compliance, please reach out to us as we are always happy to work with families on a case-by-case basis.
